Baqaii Makan has assisted Yasmin in compiling the book entitled “Research in Character, Worldview, and Art of Daneshvar’s Story Writing”.
Anbar Yasmin is a professor of Persian language at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) in Islamabad.
The book comprises of the biography of Daneshvar, her literary character, Daneshvar’s story writing heritage, review of her works including writings and translations, the impression of Jalal Al-e Ahmad (Daneshvar’s husband) on her works, and her art of story writing, Baqaii Makan added.
Baqaii Makan expressed hope that the book will also be published in Iran after its publication in Pakistan.
Simin Daneshvar was born in 1921 in Shiraz and studied Persian literature at Tehran University. She married the well-known Iranian novelist and short story writer Jalal Al-e Ahmad.
Daneshvar’s most successful work Savushun (The Mourners), a novel about settled and tribal life in and around her hometown of Shiraz, was published in 1969. She has also translated some of the works of Shaw, Chekhov, Hawthorn and Albe Schnitzler.
